This answers your question in length. In short:
Speccing to Blood Magic will result in a nuker who can transfer life from your opponent to you. You'll eventually be able, once you complete the game, to figure out a build that will deal massive amounts of damaging while siphoning large portions of the enemy's health to you. Unfortunately, this type of build will drain your mana at an alarming rate, and unless you have a warrior secondary, will leave you more or less defenseless until you regenerate the mana. Best suited to PvP. Speccing to Death Magic will result in a highly effiecent PvE character who can raise the dead and use corpses to deal large amounts of damage or otherwise benefit the team. Some builds allow the Necromancer to keep many minions alive at once through the use of healing spells, thus allowing you to create an army of walking dead. Other builds use the minions in order to regenerate health with minion sacrificing spells. Best suited to PvE, although some skilled players can effectively use Death Magic with the small number of corpses produced in PvP. Speccing to Curses results in a debuffer, someone who is highly efficient at draining the life out of an enemy at a rapid rate. Speccing high in Curses will allow you to accumulate a massive amount of degeneration on your opponent, with some Necromancers able to get to the maximum 9 (ten?) arrow degeneration. Best combined with the Mesmer spell Conjure Phantasm in order to produce the best desired effect. The best Curse-specced Necromancers are likely Mesmer secondaries. You cannot spec to Soul Reaping unless you don't spec your secondary class. This is because Soul Reaping has no skills associated with it. However, a large portion of the PvE Necromancer playerbase will put points in this and Death Magic so that when an opponent dies, you can spawn a minion from his corpse without waiting for mana regeneration. While many are highly skeptical of its PvP abilities, having a 10 point stock in this attribute can greatly increase your efficiency with any of the other attributes. A Death Magic and Soul Reaping specced Necromancer will be able to immidiately spawn a minion from an enemy's corpse in PvP; A Blood Magic/Soul Reap spec will result in being able to begin nuking your next target immidiately; A Curses/Soul Reap spec can allow you to re-apply debuffs to enemies, as they will start to wear off as the battle wears on, and as the battle wears on, people will die, therin giving you energy. Hope that helps. |

My N/Me rocks in pvp. I use blood, curses and domination. I often win against warriors at same lvl as me without help. I m lvl 18. Use curses to mess them up and than blood for steeling helth. In the Arena, if I come in a group with 3 warriors, than we always win lot of battels. Not 5-10, its more like 20-30. They attack and I back them up with curses. Well of Blood is a great way of heeling them. If other teems warrior go after me, I m can still give him good resistens and even bet him.
